7 Facts You May Not Know About G:
Do you prefer chocolate or vanilla?
I grew up a CHoCoLATE FREAK…. I gave it up (cold turkey) when I turned 27 years old along with donuts and ice cream. I made a deal with myself! I will eat those things again on my 60th birthday! Hmmm… not too awful far away!
Yippee…. skippeee… watch out Godiva, Krispy Kreme and Ben and Jerry’s. I’ve never had any of those! Do you want to come to my all chocolate birthday party?
What is your favorite vacation spot?
I worked as the fitness and activities director on a cruise ship for over 10 years and have been fortunate to have traveled all over the world. Traveling is my true love. Egypt, Turkey and Greece are some of my favorites. Norway, Russia, Singapore and Bali are unbelievable. Art, music, scenery and heritage… Italy! I LOVE every single place I’ve been except Belem, Brazil. If you know me well enough… you would know why!
Who is your favorite musical artist and do you play a lot of their music in your classes?
I am eclectic in my musical tastes and my I-pod says it all. I collect music from all over the world. My accountant tells me I need to attend I-tunes Anonymous for my addiction with downloading music. I still have hundreds of albums, 45’s (I know… I’m that ancient), 12 inch singles and cassette tapes. I have over 2000 cd’s and have filled two I-pod classics. Yep…. I think I like music. I play just pop stuff in class…. I’m not sure anyone would want to work out to the stuff I listen to.
How many places have you lived in your life?
Grew up in a cornfield in Illinois, moved to Arizona by myself when I was 18 to attend ASU. I traveled the world working on several cruise ships and cruise lines. It’s great to wake up in a different country and a different city every day for months at a time. I learned that I could live in an 8000 square foot house or a 10 x 10 foot room. Home is where the heart is. However, I ALWAYS look forward to coming back to the good ol’ USA!
What is your favorite animal? Do you have pets at home?
My favorite animal is a panda. I fell in love with Panda’s when I went to the Washington DC Zoo and sat and watched Ling-Ling and Sing -Sing for hours. I wish I had one at home but I’m gone too much
I was a flunky foster mother to several kitties 13 years ago and two are still with me. Mufasa (a Maine Coon) and Diva (a black and white tuxedo). Frankie and Ricki passed away last year. I grew up with dogs and I have a special dog “Red” that is an Australian Cattle dog that I adore!
What was your favorite subject in school.
Hmmmm… in high school my favorite subject was “boys”.
In college my favorite subject was anatomy.

Other than the current classes that you teach, what is another class you would love to add to your portfolio of classes?
I’ve taught for over 40 years from grade school physical education to junior college, from 2 year olds to 90 year olds. I would like to teach paddle-boarding, surfing or kite boarding which are my new athletic endeavors. I MAY need to teach basket weaving, knitting or something a tad less strenuous down the road. I know I will NEVER stop teaching.
