Earlier this month, members at Ocotillo Village Health Club & Spa were introduced  to MYZONE, a state-of-the-art new personal fitness wearable system to assist in the quest to achieve personal fitness goals. At the center of the MYZONE system is the MZ-3 Physical Activity Belt, a next-generation heart rate monitor used to provide members with instant, accurate effort feedback - from anywhere.

Training Smarter with MYZONE

The MYZONE sytem uses personalized readings to inform exercisers of their workouts' intensity levels in real-time on big screens throughout the club. MYZONE also keeps track of information online so that members can see precisely how much progress they've made over time. The system works by having members wearing the MZ-3 activity belt which sends readings to screens around the club and/or the MYZONE smartphone app. Through a series of personalized, color-coded activity tiles, users always know precisely what intensity zone (percentage of max heart rate) they are currently working in. With the system, members can compare their effort with others in the club, showing calories burned, heart rate and MYZONE Effort Points (MEPs) accumulated for the session. The personal feedback from the training system allows members to put in optimum effort to obtain maximum results. And, members can track their progress with an online personal activity report, accessible through the MYZONE website or on their phone.

Your Competitive Instinct Kicks In

The MYZONE system allows users to tap into their competitive instincts. The more time spent exercising, and the higher the intensity of that exercise, the more MYZONE Effort Points members can earn, and the higher the intensity, the more points earned for each minute of activity. Using MEPs allows users to participate in challenges and monthly leaderboards for the chance to earn prizes, all while improving their overall fitness level. Challenges and leaderboards make exercise fun!

Have any questions about the MYZONE system? Ask your Ocotillo Village Group Fitness, Personal Training, or Front Desk staff if you have any questions. the MZ-3 belt is available for purchase at the front desk.
